The Salling foundations are part of Dansk Supermarked and include two foundations, Købmand Ferdinand Sallings Mindefond and Købmand Herman Sallings Fond. Every year, these foundations delegate donations to different purposes. Both foundations support humanitarian, cultural and church purposes primarily in Eastern Jutland. Aarhus University Research Foundation
The foundation’s objective is to support scientific research at Aarhus University. The foundation awards grants to concrete research projects and larger multi-year projects and initiatives that strengthen research at Aarhus University.
The founder of Mitsubishi, Yataro Iwasaki, took a lease of the Government-owned Nagasaki Shipyard in the late 1800’s. He named it Nagasaki Shipyard & Machinery Works, and started the ship building business on a full scale.
The business was later turned into Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., and in 1934 was launched as Mitsubishi Heavy-Industries, Ltd., establishing its position as the largest private firm in Japan, manufacturing ships, heavy machinery, airplanes, and railroad cars.
