PRIMARY YEARS PYP8 (Grade 5) HOMEROOM TEACHER

Aarhus Academy of Global Education (AAGE) is currently seeking an experienced, dynamic, inspirational and enthusiastic homeroom teacher as of August 2019.

Responsibilities include instruction in the subject areas of Literacy, math, social studies and science (Units of Inquiry) at a PYP8 (Grade 5) level within the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme. The qualified applicant must be an excellent classroom practitioner committed to school improvement and the achievement of high academic standards.

Knowledge and/or teaching experience within the PYP IB programme will be given priority.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the type of skills required to work in an international elementary school: initiative, flexibility and openness to new cultures.

 

Minimum requirements:

B.A. degree from an accredited college or university

Teaching certification as a primary/elementary school teacher

Three (3) years of full time teaching experience at the primary level

Familiarization with transdisciplinary teaching and inquiry-based learning

Strong information technology skills

Proven ability to work as a team member/Collaborative skills

English as a mother tongue

KINDERGARTEN/ASA ADMINISTRATOR/LEADER

Aarhus Academy for Global Education (AAGE) is currently accepting applications for an Early Years (ages 3-5) Kindergarten Administrator/Leader for their program at the Bushojvaenget campus location. Applicants should have an in-depth pedagogical understanding of both the international and Danish kindergarten and pre-school programs. Experience within the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Programme is preferred. Openness to new cultures, positive energy, flexibility and collaboration when working as an experienced team leader characterize the leadership skills needed for this administrative position.  
 
Minimum requirements: B.A. or B-Ed. from an accredited college or university Teaching certification as a pre-school/elementary school teacher Administrative experience at pre-school in Danish and international settings Two years (2) experience working with children ages 3-5 years old Mother tongue proficiency in English and Danish Strong information technology skills

Work description: - Visible leader on a day to day basis - Teaching responsibilities when needed - Management of educational as well as ASA (SFO) needs - Assigning cover for educational and ASA (SFO) programs - Collaboration with the IB Coordinator on educational matters - Collaboration with Head of School on organizational/personnel matters  - Liaison with Aarhus Municipality and PPR special services - Student admissions and family tours of facility/program - Camp and vacation organization, supervision and planning - Event organization and planning of assemblies - Member of school management team
 
Note: Salary is in accordance with the agreement between BUPL and the Danish Private Schools Association.  

 

VACANCY POSTING: STEM (MATHS and DESIGN)

Aarhus Academy for Global Education (AAGE) is currently accepting applications for a STEM teacher as of August 2019 at the middle school level (grades 6-10) who has experience working with the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. Responsibilities include instruction in the subject areas of Design and Maths and preference will be given to applicants with a strong background in digital technologies.  Applicants must be excellent classroom practitioners committed to school improvement and the achievement of high academic standards. Evidence of skills such as initiative, flexibility, communication and openness to new cultures when working in an international school environment is also required.

 

Minimum requirements:

B.A. or B. Sc. degree from an accredited college or university

Teaching certification as a middle/secondary school teacher

Three (3) years of full time teaching experience at the middle school level

Familiarization with interdisciplinary teaching and inquiry-based learning

Strong information technology skills

Proven ability to work as a team member (collaborative skills)

English as a mother tongue proficiency

Aarhus Academy for Global Education (AAGE) is currently accepting applications for part time teachers who would qualify for temporary or long term cover/substitute positions in the Primary Years (grades 1-5) and/or Middle Years (grades 6-10) programmes of the International Baccalaureate. Preference will be given to those candidates who meet the majority of the criteria as listed under the minimum requirements of the above advertised position.

 

Interviews and the selection process is currently ongoing to meet the needs of an expanding and evolving program. These part time teaching positions are only available to candidates residing in the Aarhus area.    

 

*Please note: Employment is regulated according to the terms and conditions as set by the Ministry of Finance and the Central Teachers’ Association (LC) inclusive of the  organizational agreement terms for leaders and teachers at private elementary schools (in Denmark).

The occasional need for substitution arrises from time to time throughout the school year. If you are interested in teaching for days or short periods of time, please send us your CV and we will contact you.
